Well, hey there!

Welcome to my little corner of the Internet! I'm Lynn Mc and I've been a blogger since 1997, have worked remotely online since 2003, and an affiliate marketer since sometime in the mid-2000's. I kinda put online marketing (and blogging) on the back burner to go back to full-time remote work in 2017 for what was at the time totally a dream job, and I worked happily at it for several years with no plans of changing anytime soon.

Fast forward to 2023 - the former dream job had been slowly turning into a nightmare for two or three years, and then some longtime colleagues were fired. Even though I wasn't on the "hit list", I was tired of all the drama & being miserable all the time, so I made the decision to leave what I felt had become a sinking ship.

I'd dabbled in some other online income streams all along while working full-time, but not enough to be able to retire on. And I'm still too young to retire in my late 50s, but on the other hand, I don't really wanna go back to the daily grind of punching a proverbial clock again.

And online marketing still exists, but that world sure has changed a lot thanks to social media! Facebook & Twitter were certainly around when I was actively working my online marketing business, but marketing + social media has exploded on a whole new & different level since then.

"How can I make money online?" - that's a question women around my age and older have asked me more times than I can count over the past two decades.

With the explosion of social media in the last few years, marketing and growing income that way certainly seems easier than ever - but it also looks like it’s mostly a young gal’s game these days. Not only am I decades older than many of the women I see on Facebook and Instagram promoting digital products, but I’ve also developed a bit of speech impediment over the last several years and, frankly, video is just not my thing.

Matter of fact, I hate Zoom calls so much that I almost quit my job multiple times for years before I actually did, because of them. Every time I got asked to schedule a Zoom meeting (which was something that was nearly non-existent when I started that job), I wanted to resign right then and there, seriously!

In any case, I’m re-learning old ways and finding ways to navigate through all the newer stuff there is with online marketing these days. It’s all very familiar, but so much is new!

And another thing that’s very familiar is this blog, even though as I write this (in November 2023) it’s new. I started blogging way back in 1997 on AOL (!!!), and have had other blogs on over the years, mostly blogging about music, cats, and other stuff from and in my life, and spent several years in the mid- to late 2000s as an active part of the Nashville is Talking blogger group that was aggregated by WKRN, as well as a separate marketing-related blog for over a decade.

So now here I am again with this new blog, and my aim with it is to share my observations while on this new/old journey back into online marketing, sharing information and hopefully some helpful hints, as well as information about many other passive income streams I’ve discovered over the last several years.

And midlife stuff in general, especially since I’m reinventing my midlife path once again by not working at a full-time clock-punching job anymore! Something I never expected or predicted, but then again, who does?

I want to be able to help other females Generation X & beyond, who are also dealing with all of these challenges of midlife & money, navigate ways to grow their income online through affiliate marketing, digital products, and other diverse online income streams. I’m all about multiple streams of income and financial independence despite having to restart my path all over again in the middle of midlife!

On a more personal note, I live in the Mid-South in my small hometown after having lived in the big city for a couple of decades. My guy’s a transplant from the Midwest and a Navy veteran, and we have two Lab mix dogs who were adopted from a local shelter as well as a bunch of cats. I’m super passionate about helping animals and do what I can to help all of the cats and dogs in the shelters, humane society and the rescues in our area. I’ll try to keep the music and dogs & cats (mostly cats, I’ve been cat crazy my whole life) talk to a minimum!

So there ya go - this is my new/old journey back into money and online marketing, nowadays with the upper end of midlife added to the mix! Welcome and I’m glad you’re here!

These are a few of my favorite things...

My Pink Chucks

If there ever was a pair of shoes that screams me, these are it.

Cats (Dogs Too But... Cats!!!)

The cat crazy started early, indeed.

If you know this album cover, we should be (or already are) friends.
